Installation “Miscarriage”
Description and Characteristics
Installation “Miscarriage”
100×100 canvas, hardboard, acrylic, oil, photograph, nails, clock, discharge from the maternity hospital, 2022
A miscarriage is a lonely, internally destructive experience that society tends to keep quiet about.
For a woman, a miscarriage at every stage of pregnancy is a real grief, loss and is experienced like any other death. Almost all women after a miscarriage blame themselves for what happened and are depressed, being left alone with their grief. Since miscarriage is not recognized as a full-fledged loss in society, most often relatives reassure a woman, devaluing her suffering, which makes it even more painful. The guilt that a woman keeps to herself can haunt her all her life. Most women who have experienced the loss of a child as a result of a miscarriage do not receive adequate attention and support. If we share our feelings with those who can support us, we will burn out together and get rid of the guilt that haunts us.
