From April 4 to May 12, 2019, Minsk hosts the All-Belarusian Art Exhibition “I am Monet, I am Shishkin, I am Malevich”. Among the participants of the exhibition there is an artist from the agro-town of Kolodishchi, Lora Pavlova. The artist participates in the exhibition with an abstract oil painting in a wooden frame. The painting is for sale.
The exhibition is located at the National Center for Contemporary Arts at 3 Nekrasova Street. You can visit the exhibition on Tuesdays from 12.00 to 20.00, on Wednesdays from 13.00 to 21.00, from Thursday to Saturday 12.00-20.00. Ticket price: 5 rubles for adults; 3 rubles for full-time students, pensioners; 2 rubles for schoolchildren; free of charge for children under 7 years old.
The exhibition “I am Monet, I am Shishkin, I Am Malevich” was first held in Minsk in 2017, curated by art critic Olga Klip, borrowing the idea of American curator Walter Hopps. All interested artists were invited to participate, who could bring one of their works to the gallery within 36 hours, or three days. The only condition was that the work should pass through the gallery’s front door. As a result, 661 artists participated in the exhibition. The exhibition attracted about 5,000 spectators and dozens of media reviews. The success of the first all-Belarusian art exhibition among participants and viewers led to the fact that in 2018 the exhibition was held for the second time, now on the squares of the National Center for Contemporary Art (Minsk).
This year the exhibition is being held for the third time. In order for the project to acquire a truly Belarusian scale, regional exhibitions were held in Grodno and Gomel in March, which were attended by 185 and 130 artists, respectively. Works from Grodno, Gomel, Brest, Vitebsk and Mogilev were delivered to the exhibition in Minsk.
