Interactive Art Exhibition

Within the framework of the project “Marc Chagall: the art of seeing the world through the heart”
National Center for Contemporary Arts
Minsk, Nekrasova St., 3
The curator is Nadezhda Khmyl
Artists: Anastasia Akulova, Mariana Karpovich, Natalia Zubkova, Anna Ermakovich, Nadezhda Khmyl, Lora Pavlova, Yana Yanishchits, Julia Kachur, YARA
“The exhibition is interactive: installations and art objects are accompanied by instructions and QR codes leading to the author’s page with a video presentation. In the video (which replaces the text of the annotation), the viewer will be able to see the artist talking about the idea of his work. To read the QR code, point your phone’s camera at it in photo capture mode. We dream of being happy. But happiness can seem abstract, independent of us, as if it should happen by itself. Taking responsibility for the quality of your life opens up paths to achieving happiness, where every small change will be a step in its direction. To remember yourself as a child, to establish contact with your inner child; to dream relaxed in an armchair, looking at the stars; to listen to the sensations in your body, scent, touch, sounds, enjoy them; to immerse yourself in memories of the joyful moments of your life, to feel grateful for them; to smile; to take time to reflect on your own happiness – that’s all these are small practices offered by artists. In their works, the authors share with the viewer their personal ways of bringing happiness and joy to life. Let’s strive to see all the good things that surround us and never stop appreciating it!”
The exhibition presents my interactive project “Playing the child” and two oil paintings.
Interactive installation “Playing the child”
Paper wallpaper 50x1000cm., gouache, pencils, pastel 2022
“Every person has a choice: to survive or to live their life happily. Happiness is not a destination, but a path. To find your way, I suggest you play the child. Draw, write on the wallpaper! Remember, feel what you like, which makes you feel very good and pleasant — this will be a clue in which direction to go. Having found your life path, act, believe in yourself and don’t stop!”
For almost two months of the exhibition, any visitor to the NCCI could draw or write on the wallpaper.
